E-books can be read on personal computers, e-readers and smartphones (PDAs).
We publish eBooks in three popular formats that will suit every device.
Please check the documentation for your e-reader or PDA to ensure you know which formats it supports.
Our three formats are:
A robust format that people use on their PC’s everyday. PDF’s can also be used on many e-reading devices and support high quality design and complex layout.
However, font size is not easily adjusted to suit smaller screens.
You can easily download Adobe Reader or Adobe Digital Editions (which lets you store and sort your favourite PDF and ePub e-books) from: http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/
ePUB
ePub is a rapidly emerging industry standard for e-readers. It is similar to a PDF except it has reflow capability.
This means font size or text is automatically adjusted to suit your e-reader or mobile. To achieve this, however, layout and design factors take second place to text considerations.
This is the recommended format for Sony e-readers and Apple iPads and iPhones.
You can downloaded the software from: http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/
MOBIPOCKET (Mobi)
Based on HTML code (like this website), Mobi is a robust and highly flexible format suitable for many e-reading devices such as the Kindle, Blackberry, Palm and other pocket PC devices.
Text will adjust to the size of the screen and font sizes are easily enlarged or reduced.
Like ePub, however, this flexibility comes at the expense of some design elements.
You can safely download Mobipocket reader software at: http://www.mobipocket.com/en/DownloadSoft/default.asp
